Ally Pally!

Yesterday, eight of our group went to the Alexandra Palace Knit and Stitch Show. Five of us went by Harrod's coach and five went by train. We all got there about 1/4 to 11, and arranged to meet at 1 for lunch under the large blue window in the main hall.
Cherry, Pat, Coral, Brenda, Donna, Sheila, Pat and Tricia
It was quite an experience! Plenty of diversity to keep us all happy all day. I was pleased to meet up with Stewart and Richard (Maid Fibre) who were sharing Alpaca Select's stall. Bellow is Isabel, with Sheila and Richard.

The coach passengers came away at 4.30 and were home for 7.15. The train travellers caught a later train, and got back to Downham at 9.40! A very long day.

Tuesday 10th July group

More new ladies today,  Marian, also Julie and her mum Betty. Julie has her own Etsy shop selling her hand dyed wool. Might have been raining when we left, but we all still had a great natter while we were crafty with our knits. Continuing to plan our day out to the Ally Pally on 11th October. Most people think the Hunstanton knitting group starting at Cafe Blah Blahh tomorrow is just too far, which is a shame.

An evening in June just after midsummer

This evening we had a visit from Sue Welfare and her hubby Phil Pead who has recently launched a new community website He is doing a feature on our knitting group, and took lots of photos.  So watch that space. Kerry proudly showed us the crocheted blanket she has made since learning last month. Donna is making a mystery shawl. Pics below. Nik made an amazing carrot cake for us!! We planned our visits to Maid of Fibre next Monday, and also talked about the Ally Pally Knit & Stitch Show.
