This is a great cause. In addition, St Mungo's are currently auctioning celebrity hats on eBay for the appeal. Already, Neil Tennant (Pet Shop Boys) is at £1,727.00, and Eric Clapton's is at £770.00. They are the two highest ones right now. The auction ends next weekend. All money raised is for the charity.

I have just got back from Downham Post Office, where I posted our parcel of orange woolly hats for St Mungo's Woolly Hat Day on 26th October. We managed 25 hats in all.

Downham Community Fair
Downham Market Community Fair took place in the Town Hall today, and we were there! We had some of our St Mungo's woolly hats on show. We sold yarn, patterns, books, and Donna brought some of her stitch markers and project bags. The highlight of the day was the little boy who hovered on and off throughout the morning and eventually admitted to wanting to learn to knit! Go Leon! The lovely Matthew Usher from the EDP arrived in time to record the moment!
Monday's online EDP24 had these photos on their website (and the one of Sheila is in the paper too):

Ally Pally!
Yesterday, eight of our group went to the Alexandra Palace Knit and Stitch Show. Five of us went by Harrod's coach and five went by train. We all got there about 1/4 to 11, and arranged to meet at 1 for lunch under the large blue window in the main hall.

It was quite an experience! Plenty of diversity to keep us all happy all day. I was pleased to meet up with Stewart and Richard (Maid Fibre) who were sharing Alpaca Select's stall. Bellow is Isabel, with Sheila and Richard.
The coach passengers came away at 4.30 and were home for 7.15. The train travellers caught a later train, and got back to Downham at 9.40! A very long day.
